Wade Andres savors the process of solving construction problems.

During his 12 years at HCB Contractors, Wade rarely found himself involved in cookie-cutter jobs. As a project manager from 1987 to 1990, Andres instead gravitated toward complex projects, including the Southwestern Bell Plaza, renovation of the Crestview Tower Renovation in Las Colinas, the Irving YWCA, plus both renovations and new construction at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.

He also became involved with the St. Mark’s School Texas Building Program, where he helped work out all the difficult issues of building and renovating structures amongst the campus’ older buildings while keeping the school running and the students safe.

When he teamed with his father Gil Andres to form Andres Construction Services in 1990, Wade put his problem-solving prowess to work on behalf of the client, this time as an officer of the firm.

The idea was to bring to clients the kind of personal attention and keen problem-solving abilities that executives at larger firms are unable to provide due to the corporate environment.

Starting with the Cistercian Abbey Chapel, the young firm began to build a reputation, not only with prospective clients, but among subcontractors. Andres executives collaborate with subcontractors, challenging them and offering them the kind of respect that inspires their best work.

Wade Andres helped establish the firm in the field of building private schools in the mid 1990s when he was named to the Master Plan Committee at The Hockaday School. He consulted with school officials on plans and budgets to renovate/upgrade virtually every building on the campus. To date, Andres has completed ten projects for the school.

In 1999, the hard-charging Andres won the job to build Edgemere, a continuing care retirement center. The project showcased the firm’s ability to manage costs on a luxurious multi-family project where aesthetics were as important as the bottom line.

The excitement Wade Andres feels about solving construction problems can be felt through the entire firm and has spurred the firm’s steady growth.
